Joan Marie Falappi, 88, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in North Char leroi, the daughter of Salvatore and Mary Say Aglio. Joan was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (Monongahela), where she volunteered at the parish festival, the food bank and was a member of the former Ladies of Charity. Joan Marie Falappi, 88, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in North Char leroi, the daughter of Salvatore and Mary Say Aglio. Joan was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (Monongahela), where she volunteered at the parish festival, the food bank and was a member of the former Ladies of Charity. In her younger years, she loved traveling with her husband, Bill, and golfing in several golf leagues, the last one being Chippewa Golf League. Her favorite times were spending holidays with her family. She is survived by her son, Mark (Dana) Falappi of Peters Township; daughter- in-law, Cheryl Falappi of Monongahela; two granddaughters, Stephanie Thistlethwaite and Marci Falappi; grandson, Michael Falappi; and great granddaughter, Haydin Thistlethwaite. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Falappi, who died June 14, 2013; son, William “Will” “Mick” Falappi, who died on Sept. 30, 2022; and a sister, Teresa “Dolly” Grandy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, with Deacon Alexander Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
