Donora rescinds $30K payment

Miscommunication and misunderstanding between Donora council members led the borough to rescind a vote that was made last month and withdraw its approval of paying a $30,000 bill on behalf of the Mon Valley Sewage Authority — but not without a fight. At last week’s workshop meeting, borough Administrator Michael Thornton explained that council needed to rescind a motion from the March meeting that approved paying a permit fee on behalf of the sewage authority.
