Mary “Jill” DeLany, 79, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away peacefully in her home on March 21, 2024. Jill was born on Nov. 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh and raised in Belle Vernon. She was the daughter of the late James Pierce Ferguson and Marguerite Rose Madigan Ferguson of Belle Vernon. She is survived by her two children, daughter, Kathleen Lynn DeLany (son-in-law, Gary Wilson) and son, James Elliott DeLany; five grandchildren, Christopher Tarkenton (wife, Jessica) of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Ryan DeLany of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Colin DeLany (wife, Sarah) of Elizabethtown, Pa., Nolan DeLany and Caden DeLany of Hummelstown, Pa.; and one great-grandchild, Scarlet Rose DeLany of Mechanicsburg, Pa. She is also survived by two siblings, Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson and Robert “Bob” Ferguson, who originally resided in Belle Vernon and now reside in Clearwater, Fla. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
