McKeesport Area School Board to vote on police contract

McKeesport Area school board will likelt vote next week to approve a contract for a police officer to be present within the district.
McKeesport city council approved the agreement on its end at the October council meeting to renew the contract for a full-time school resource officer, provided by the McKeesport police department, that will be present on the high school/Founder’s Hall Middle School campus. The officer will be assigned by police Chief Bryan J. Washowich. The district will pay the city $80,000 for the service.
District spokeswoman Kristen James said the district partially pays for the officer’s service through grant funding.
