Several local airports will receive state grant money for upgrades including one Mid-Mon Valley-based airport.
Sen. Pat Stefano, R-Bullskin Township, announced Thursday that the state Route 51-based Rostraver Airport is among 26 facilities statewide sharing $6.2 million in grant funding as part of PennDOT’s Aviation Development Program and Multimodal fund.
“These airports are key parts of our regional economy and they certainly will take on an even larger role in the future,” Stefano said. “These grants continue the state’s investment in our community. By developing and enhancing our local airports, we give local leaders another great marketing tool to use when competing for new businesses and jobs.”
Locally, the West Mifflin-based Allegheny County Airport, the Joseph A. Hardy/Connellsville Airport, the Washington County Airport and Arnold Palmer Regional Airport will also be receiving funding.
