Mele-Madigan takes over as Serra tops S. Allegheny

Gigi Mele-Madigan scored 15 points and Serra Catholic took advantage of South Allegheny’s shooting woes as the Eagles cruised past the Gladiators, 33-11, at the Serra Catholic tip-off tournament Friday night.

“I thought we played well. We came out with some nerves with it being the first game of the season, but we shook them off,” said Serra Catholic assistant coach Laura Primyon, who coached the team while head coach Bill Cleary is out of town to attend his son’s wedding.
