Charleroi woman wanted for fraud

Police are searching for a Charleroi woman accused of opening credit cards in the name of a bedridden elderly women who lives in a personal care home.
Jamie D. Begandy, 39, of Lincoln Avenue is wanted on charges of identity theft and access device fraud.
Charges were filed by Charleroi Regional police Jan. 2 with Magisterial District Judge Larry Hopkins in Charleroi, but Begandy has yet to be apprehended after numerous attempts to reach her.
Officer David Kimball said he was contacted by the woman’s power of attorney, Suzanne Surdyn, on Oct. 23, claiming numerous credit cards and accounts the elderly woman did not authorize had been opened in her name.
