Security cameras nearly in place at Monessen Elementary

Monessen School District’s efforts to increase safety and security are ongoing.
School board members announced during a meeting Tuesday that installation of multiple high-definition security cameras at Monessen Elementary Center is almost complete.
Despite being delayed for almost a month, the project, once finished, will allow district security officers and staff 24-hour, “crystal clear” views of the building and grounds.
Board President Roberta Bergstedt said the cameras are one more improvement to the district’s already-strong security measures.
