Shale development workshop set

For the MV Independent

Protect Elizabeth Township, a community organization focused on advocating for the protection of resident rights while striving to help build a better community, is collaborating with Protect Penn Trafford to host a free home resource guide workshop on the impacts of shale gas development.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 4 at the Elizabeth Township Community Center, Building 3, at 429 Duncan Station Road in Elizabeth Township.

With new unconventional gas development beginning in Elizabeth Township, Protect Elizabeth Township has invited Protect PT to host the educational workshop, which will equip residents with the resources and information they need during the different phases of unconventional gas development to protect their health and safety.

The Home Resource Guide Workshop educates residents on how to recognize pollution events, how to prepare for emergencies and how to participate in air, noise and water monitoring programs.
