The Allegheny Land Trust is again encouraging nature enthusiasts who live in the Mon Valley to lace up their boots, get outside and lend a hand in helping improve the trails at Dead Man’s Hollow.

ALT announced recently that it will be holding Trail Tuesday events at the conservation area on the third Tuesday of every month from April to September.

Dead Man’s Hollow is a 450-acre area that borders McKeesport, Elizabeth Township and Liberty and Lincoln boroughs and features 8 miles of trails. The Hollow is home to dense woodlands, an abundant wildflower population and winding trails that lead hikers and bikers to vistas that tell of a rich and mysterious history.

The hollow is the largest privately protected conservation area in Allegheny County. It was once the site of a thriving industrial area.
