Eagles tune for playoffs, blow out Trojans

After Tuesday’s 16-3 non-section win by Serra Catholic over host California, the Trojans are putting their uniforms away for another season and the Eagles are getting ready for the upcoming WPIAL Class 2A playoffs.
But even though the two teams are on different ends of the softball spectrum this season, they both have one big thing in common.
Each came away from the game with questions to answer moving forward.
For the Eagles (10-4), coach Denny Willaman is trying to find the right formula for his team without the injured Fite sisters, Lexie and Lizzie.
The two team leaders are dealing with injuries and while Willaman expects one of them back sometime during the playoffs, the other is probably out for the season.
