Two area residents are seeking to replace Magisterial District Judge Larry Hopkins, who is set to retire at the end of his current term in December.
Eric Porter, 44, and Suzanne Ruschak, 54, have both cross-filed on the Republican and Democratic ballots in the upcoming primary election.
That means they could land both separate nominations and both appear on the November ballot to win a six-year term.
Hopkins has served as a magisterial district judge in Charleroi for 17 years. The district covers Allenport, Charleroi, Dunlevy, Elco, North Charleroi, Roscoe, Speers, Stockdale and Twilight boroughs and Fallowfield Township.
