A Fayette City man has been charged for obstructing an investigation surrounding an alleged underage drinking party on Rostraver Road on Memorial Day.
Michael Zadrozny, 53, of ZMZ Lane was charged Tuesday with obstructing administration of law or other governmental functions.
On May 27, Rostraver Township Police were investigating an incident involving underage drinking, escape and narcotics at the 1400 block of Rostraver Road.
Officer Richard V. Beranek II detailed in an affidavit of probable cause that Zana Marie Zadrozny, 19, was charged as a result of the investigation.
Lt. David Yuhasz of the Monessen Police Department and Officer Michael Stefko of the West Newton Police Department were requested to assist Rostraver police.
According to the affidavit, Michael Zadrozny arrived on scene and demanded to know what was going on. He was advised by Yuhasz that Zana Zadrozny was in police custody for underage drinking and escape.
According to police, Zana Zadrozny is Michael Zadrozny’s daughter.
“He began to yell that she wasn’t drinking and walked toward Zana,” the affidavit states. “Zadrozny said, ‘Well, I’m taking her.’ Yuhasz told him that he was not.”
After Michael Zadrozny again stated he was taking her, Stefko reiterated that she was not permitted to leave due to the ongoing police investigation.
Officers allegedly told Michael Zadrozny a third time that he was not permitted to take her and he ignored officers, once again approaching Zana Zadrozny.
Court records indicate that Michael Zadrozny tried to physically remove his daughter from police custody. Michael Zadrozny allegedly began to pull the girl up by her left arm, pulling her off the ground before he was taken into custody by Yuhasz.
