The West Jefferson Hills School District is moving forward with its plans to empty, clean out and dismantle the abandoned Thomas Jefferson High School at 310 Old Clairton Road in Jefferson Hills.

At the school board’s workshop meeting Tuesday, superintendent Dr. Michael Ghilani announced that the first phase of auctioning off items inside the building is scheduled to begin Sept. 28.

Ghilani said the process will consist of four phases, with the first being the auctioning of equipment from the building’s kitchen, tech education and maintenance departments as well as desks and chairs.

The second phase, scheduled for November, will consist of the auctioning of loose items such as more desks and chairs, along with signs and computers.
