Fay L. Dequenne LaFrankie, 84, of Forward Township, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at home. She was a former member of St. Michael Parish and its Christian Mothers, a former volunteer assisting handicapped children in White Oak and a fan of stock car racing. Born Oct. 13, 1934, in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Elvera Shupe Dequenne and wife of the late Peter J. LaFrankie Jr. She is survived by daughters, Natalie (Gary) Wolfgang, with whom she resided, Carla Hobaugh of Jefferson Hills, and Marie (Larry) Schmidt of Pittsburgh; son, James LaFrankie of Elizabeth; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Peter J. LaFrankie III. Friends will be received in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 North Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at St. Michael Parish with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating.
