First-year South Allegheny girls soccer coach Andrew Dyson realizes he has something a lot of teams in Section 3-2A don’t have: A plethora of youth.
The Gladiators, who have also battled their fair share of injuries this season, have a roster that consists of a handful of young players, most of whom are gaining valuable playing time early in their high school careers.
But with a young team comes inevitable growing pains and losses to teams that might have a little more experience.
South Allegheny’s growing pains continued Wednesday afternoon as it suffered its ninth consecutive loss with an 11-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Brownsville.
The duo of Tessa Dellarose and Gracie Stetson proved to be a lot for the Gladiators (1-9, 0-7) to handle as they each scored five goals in the victory.
