A little less than a year after its first meeting, the Mid-Mon Valley Council of Governments has been discontinued.

Mon Valley Alliance CEO Ben Brown announced the move Friday.

The COG was formed in 2017 by the Mon Valley Alliance. It took some time to get the group up and running, but at the start nine municipalities — Brownsville Township, Charleroi, California, Donora, Dunlevy, Fallowfield Township, Monongahela, Monessen and North Belle Vernon — passed resolutions to join the organization.

The COG met for the first time in January with Monongahela, Donora, Charleroi, Brownsville Township and Dunlevy represented.
