Eight members of the Tube City Writers group held a symposium in McKeesport Thursday night to tell the stories and show off the writing skills they have spent months crafting and honing.
The Tube City Writers group and “Tube City Writers Live: An evening of stories from the Mon Valley” are projects of the Point Park University Center for Media Innovation’s McKeesport Community Newsroom.
The group is facilitated by Nicole Peeler, Seton Hill University associate professor of English and director of the Writing Popular Fiction Program, and Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Martha Rial, who is director of the McKeesport Community Newsroom.
Participating writers were Collette Finches, Ed Boyko, Jim Busch, Jennifer McCalla, Vickie Babyak, Isaiah Johnson, Jill Beiger Frederick and Maria Palmer.
