It wasn’t pretty, but a section win is a section win and Elizabeth Forward girls basketball coach Krystal Gibbs will take it.

In a battle of two teams expected to compete for a playoff spot in Section 3-4A, the Warriors came out of Ringgold with an ugly 37-28 win.

“A win is a win. We persevered,” Gibbs said. “We’re young and I expect games like this with a young team. This is one of those games you have to learn how to win and we came out on top.”

Ringgold coach Lindsy Muchnock said her team performed well defensively, holding the Warriors (3-2, 2-0) under her 38-point threshold.

“We held them down below the points we wanted to,” Muchnock said. “But offensively, we played really bad. You can’t turn the ball over 25, 26 times. We made really poor turnovers and some really bad decisions when we were wide open.”
