The Mon Valley Sewage Authority lost its second board member this week as Donora’s newest appointee resigned Thursday.
Rick DeLattre was appointed by Donora council Monday night to finish the remaining two years of Yancey Taylor’s term.
Council President Joe Greco said DeLattre called him Thursday morning to say he didn’t realize how much turmoil was going on at the sewage authority.
DeLattre, vice president of JED Heating and Cooling, told Greco he has a business to run and doesn’t want to be involved in all the issues at the authority.
One of the sweeping changes Monessen Mayor Matt Shorraw made when he returned to city council Monday after a 20-month absence was to rescind the appointment of Brooke Farmer to the board. The position will be advertised for candidates.
In Donora, Greco said, a special meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday to appoint a new member. Greco intends to reach out to others who expressed interest in the position.
