New Century Careers, which operates one of its job-training programs out of McKeesport’s Tube City Center, has announced that its leader, Paul Anselmo, has retired.

Anselmo’s retirement was effective Feb. 29. Neil Ashbaugh, who was previously NCC’s director of services and assisted in creating the part of NCC’s programming that is based in McKeesport, will succeed Anselmo.

Anselmo, who identifies as “a McKeesporter,” co-founded New Century Careers in 1999 following 20 years in public education and five years in the private sector.

As president and CEO of NCC, he provided design, start-up and project management functions for all NCC initiatives and has secured and managed millions of dollars in grants from multiple federal, state, corporate and foundation sources to operate NCC as a nonprofit organization.
