With the number of new coronavirus cases slowing, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has started to share different types of data.
Some of that data deal with facilities that include nursing and personal care residences across the state and the numbers of cases they’ve had during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Five care facilities in the Mon Valley have been affected with relatively low case counts, according to the data, and just two have experienced deaths due to the disease.
Mon Valley Care Center in Monongahela has had fewer than five resident cases, fewer than five staff cases and no deaths.
Mon Yough Community Services in McKeesport has had no resident cases, fewer than five staff cases and no deaths.
The John J. Kane Regional Center in McKeesport has had fewer than five resident and staff cases and no deaths.
Jefferson Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center has had fewer than five resident cases, no staff cases and fewer than five deaths.
Lawson Nursing Home in Jefferson Hills has had 12 resident cases, fewer than five staff cases and fewer than five deaths.
Cases
There have now been 71,926 cases of coronavirus in the state, including 1,191 new cases since Friday.
There were 91 new deaths reported, for a total of 5,555 fatalities due to the virus. According to the DOH, 67% of patients have now recovered. After 30 days, any patient who tests positive and isn’t reported as a death is considered recovered.
Allegheny County now has 1,911 cases, an increase of 41 patients. According to the DOH, there was one new death reported and that total is now 163. According to the Allegheny County Health Department, there were no new deaths and the total it is tracking is 151.
In Fayette County, there were no new cases, so that total remains at 95 with no new deaths, leaving that total at four.
Washington County reported no new cases and no new deaths. Those totals are 139 and five respectively.
Westmoreland County reported five new cases, bringing that total to 449. According to the DOH, there were no new deaths and that total is 38. Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha also reports no new deaths, and his total remains at 32.
