The Belle Vernon Rotary Club wants to ensure Mon Valley families don’t go hungry.

As many area food banks saw an increase in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rotary made sure three locations were able to provide for families across the area.

Last week, the club donated more than $3,700 to three food banks in the organization’s coverage area.

The Belle Vernon Rotary is located in Fayette County, but covers communities in Westmoreland County as well.

The Belle Vernon Area Food Bank, Perryopolis Food Bank and the Washington Township-Fayette City Food Bank are all in the club’s coverage area.

The Belle Vernon Ministerium sponsors the Belle Vernon Area Food Bank at Fells United Methodist Church and the Fayette City Food Bank. The Belle Vernon location operates under the Westmoreland County Food Bank.

The food bank in Perryopolis is  sponsored by the Perryopolis Ministerium.
