Eugene F. Maisano – Monessen


Eugene F. Maisano, 87, of Monessen, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, in The Res-idence at Hilltop. He was born on June 12, 1933, in Monessen, the son of the late John and Louise Dominick Maisano. Eugene was a life-long resident of Monessen and was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Knights of Columbus No. 954, Italian-American Heritage Society and the Monessen Amateur Ham Radio Club. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Mid Mon Valley Shipmates and American Legion Post 28. Eugene retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant, having worked as a bricklayer and machinist. He was a past president of Valley 1st Federal Credit Union in Monessen and was also past president for AFL-CIO Local 1229. He is survived by two sons, Gerald (Barb) Maisano and Mark Maisano, both of Monongahela; four daughters, Pamela (Chris Marchant) Maisano of Erie, Jayne (Leo) McKeown of Port Carbon, Pa., Lisa (Mark) Tabacca of Monessen, and Beth Crayton of Rosepine, La.; nine grandchildren, Heather Maisano, Isabella Maisano, Frank Maisano, Jennifer (Joseph) Doran, David (Sarah) McKeown, Sean (Tori) McKeown, Rebecca (Kelsey) Pallini, Ryan Groves, Morgan Groves; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred “Sis” Bethem of Monongahela and Marlene (James) Johnston of Monessen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Feevey Maisano; two brothers, Michael and Anthony “Vas” Maisano; and four sisters, Margaret Perry, Lena and Virginia Maisano and Mary Scaccia. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Monessen. Those attending the viewing and funeral are required to wear a face mask and social distance. Only 10 people are permitted in the funeral home at a time, so please be considerate and limit your visiting time.
