The 2021 season was a tough one for a number of reasons for the Connellsville boys basketball team. The Falcons dealt with delays and setbacks due to COVID-19 and were only able to play nine games on their abbreviated schedule. Seven of those games ended with a loss.

But at least the season ended on a positive note.

Despite a slow start, the Falcons came alive in the second half and pulled away from visiting Ringgold, 47-32 in the season finale on Thursday.

Connellsville earned the win by going on a 12-0 run that lasted through the late stages of the third quarter and a good chunk of the fourth quarter.

“I think the last part of the third and the rest of the fourth was the kind of team we could be,” Connellsville coach Andy Hedrick said. “I’m proud of the seniors. This year has been tough and I’m proud that they were able to finish like this.”
