Alene Mary Cardinale Valentine, 84, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021, with her family by her side, at the McMurray Hills Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in North Charleroi on Dec. 25, 1936, Alene was the daughter of the late Cyril and Virginia Murray Cardinale. The owner and operator of Mon Valley Services for several years, Alene was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church, a member of the Gold Agers and was an active card player, playing in numerous card clubs. She enjoyed spending her summer days at the Pine Cove Beach Club. Alene is survived by her sons, Robert C. (Sherrie) Valentine of Washington and Kevin Valentine of Donora; daughter, Virginia (Peter) Katinsky of Fallowfield Township; grandchildren, Robert (Nicole) Valentine, David Valentine, Ricci (Susie) Rich and Brandon (Alexis Livingstone) Katinsky; and great-grandchildren, Mallory Valentine and Blakely and London Rich. In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Valentine.
