Melanie A. Hansen, 68, of North Huntingdon, died on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Born in Mc-Keesport on June 17, 1952, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Bungert Argall and the wife of William D. Hansen Jr. Melanie and Bill fell in love while in junior high school and celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary last year. She was a graduate of East Allegheny High School and St. Margaret’s School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, working in elderly care and skilled nursing at McKeesport Hospital and Briarcliff Pavilion. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and a longtime member of Markvue Manor Women’s Club. For 25 years, she spent her summers camping with family and friends at Mountain Pines Campground. She was a die-hard Steelers fan and made football Sundays very special. From the time she was a little girl, Melanie loved to dance. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Brent (Chrissy) Hansen of Jefferson Hills; daughter, Brynn (Philip) Morgan of Pickerington, Ohio; grandchildren, (who lovingly called her “MeMaw”) Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Charlotte Hansen and Aubrey and Maura Morgan; brother-in-law, David Litzinger; nieces and nephews, Shani (Dane) Germuska, David (Annie) Litzinger, Shara Hopkins and Brian (Maria) Litzinger; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Karen Litzinger and Arlene Saula; and brother-in-law, George Saula. Family and friends will gather at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, with Father Jay Geisler officiating. Entombment will follow. The family and our team members appreciate that all visitors follow the current CDC guidelines, including wearing of masks, social distancing and capacity limits. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The family also wants everyone to know that they completely understand if anyone is not comfortable with visiting and paying their respects during the pandemic.
