Mary Ann Sikorsky, 91, of Washington, formerly of Donora, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at the Premier Washington Health Center. She was born in Donora on April 3, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Mary Markanic Bainer. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora. Mary Ann worked as a registered nurse for Mon Valley Hospital for more than 30 years and had a true love for her job and the people that she helped. She was an avid painter and enjoyed working with ceramics. Mrs. Sikorsky loved hosting Sunday dinners with her family as well as spending time with them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Sikorsky, in 1975; and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Rafael) Beresh. Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mary Jo Krasnevich of Monessen and Patti Lofgren of Donora; a son, Joseph (Debra) Sikorsky of Scottdale; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Chuck), Jaqueline, Dennis, Joseph (Annemarie), Matthew, Emily and Patrick; four great-grandchildren, Abbey, Seth, Ethan and Ashton; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, in the funeral home with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora or to the Washington County Food Bank in Mrs. Sikorsky’s name.
