After a decade spent guiding the Yough girls soccer program, Dann Appolonia has decided to call it a career.
The veteran head coach is stepping down following 10 seasons at the helm of the Cougars, a stretch that has included four semifinal appearances and the program’s first-ever appearance in the WPIAL championship game.
“I’ve gone into the last several years taking it one year at a time and it just felt like it was time to move on,” Appolonia said. “I’ve been doing it for a long time and at some point you just have to say to yourself that there are other things you wanna do in your life, and for me there are. I just felt like it was appropriate.”
