Lillian M. Hynes – Washington Heights, Belle Vernon

Lillian M. Hynes, 96, of Washington Heights, Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, in her home. A daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Nelepa Koslasky, she was born on Feb. 1, 1925, in North Charleroi. Living most of her adult life in Belle Vernon, she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Lillian loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid card player, enjoyed doing word finds and enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Jeanne Hynes of Fayette City and Bob and Chris Hynes of Washington Heights;. three grandchildren, Brian (Ronna) Sabol of Nevada, Tracy Sabol of Virginia and Nathen Hynes of Washington Heights; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon Sabol, Ryan Lynn Sabol, Thomas Chase Leeber, Logan Brooke Leeber and Gianna Theakston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Hynes in 1983; a daughter, Linda Hynes Theakston in 2001; a grandson, Jeremy Theakston; and a sister, Doris Megela. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A blessing will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
