No tax increase in Monongahela

Monongahela property owners will not see an increase in their taxes next year. During a special meeting Wednesday morning, council unanimously passed a 2022 spending plan, that will hold the line at 7 mills, which translates to 70 cents for each $100 of assessed property value. The roughly $3.1 million budget includes about $200,000 for public safety, $495,000 for streets and $94,000 for parks and recreation and will leave the city with about a $1,300 surplus if calculations add up.
