White Oak celebrates the season with holiday contests

White Oak Borough didn’t miss a chance to celebrate the holidays this year. Early in the holiday shopping season, the borough partnered with Rainbow Volunteer Fire Company to bring back its Brunch with Santa event at the fire hall. Firefighters and the borough also partnered to host a holiday coloring contest, and the winner — Twin Rivers Elementary School student Demi Pirl, 8, — earned the honor of helping Santa (Keith Reigh) and his elf (Brianna Reigh) throw the switch to light the borough Christmas tree at the White Oak Season of Lights Celebration. But the holiday fun didn’t stop there.
