Belle Vernon Area looked like it was on cruise control with a 5-0 lead on visiting Southmoreland, but the Leopards defense faltered and the visiting Scotties took advantage.
BVA committed four of their five errors in the final two innings and the Scotties banged out nine runs on nine hits over that timespan to rally for a 9-6 win over the Leopards in non-section softball action on Tom Rodriguez Field.
After Belle Vernon (1-1-1) scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Scotties tied the game with a five spot in the sixth.
