Richard Venanzi, 80, of Longs, S.C., formerly of Monongahela, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Born Oct. 4, 1941, in Monongahela, Richard was the son of the late Attilio and Rohala Rodriguez Venanzi. After his graduation in 1959 from Monongahela High School, Richard earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State Teachers College and then his master’s in education from WVU and continued working towards his Ph.D. For 27 years, Richard was an elementary school teacher in the Fort Cherry School District and later became the elementary school principal in the Burgettstown School District for the last seven years of his education career. He then worked another five years for U.S. Air, until his retirement. Richard and his wife relocated to Longs, S. C., in 2014, where he enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling with his beloved wife of 44 years, Martha Cagnon Venanzi. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Mann of Monongahela.
