Dr. Charles Edward Stacey, 90, a lifelong resident of Donora, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022. Born in Donora, on Nov. 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles and late Nettie Lambie Stacey. A graduate of Donora Senior High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Chuck dedicated his life to the field of education. After retiring from Ringgold School District as superintendent, he spent seven years as the chairman of the Education Department at Carlow College. In retirement, he enjoyed attending theater performances in New York City, reading and listening to his extensive classical and Broadway music collection. But he was happiest sitting on his rocker on the front porch talking with neighbors and those walking by. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan Erdely Stacey; two sisters, Mary Janet (Edward) Henry of Charleroi, and Irene Bender of New Castle; brother-in-law, Elmer Erdely of Donora; his nieces and nephews, including Edward (Renee) Henry of Upper St. Clair, Barbara (Chester) Gadola of Keller, Texas, William Henry of Charleroi, and Lauren (Don) Hurray of New Castle. Also surviving are cousins, the Rev. Marion Strain of Kenya, Africa, and Tom (Judy) Stacey of Pittsburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. A service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, with the Rev. Father Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
