Elizabeth Township residents oppose well pad site near EF school

A sense of desperation filled Elizabeth Township’s municipal hall Wednesday as residents and resident organizers of Elizabeth Township pleaded with planning commission officials not to recommend approval of a two-part conditional use application submitted by Olympus Energy.
The planning commission decided to continue the hearing until next month when the natural gas company, which operated two well pads in the township previously as Huntley and Huntley Energy Exploration, will have another chance to provide greater detail on a plan to set up operations 1,700 feet from the property line of Elizabeth Forward High School’s southwestern side.
