John A. ‘Jack’ Dunlop – Belle Vernon

 

John A. “Jack” Dunlop, 86, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home with his family. Born Oct. 22, 1935, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Carl and Clara Mae Kinney Dunlop. A graduate from Bellmar High School in 1953, he served two years in the U.S. Army and served one year in Seoul, South Korea. He married Sue Moore Dunlop 64 years ago, on Oct. 25, 1958. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Dr. J. Jeffrey Dunlop (Julie) of Ohio, Valerie Radic (Tom) and Annette Necciai and a son-in-law, Clark Necciai, all of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren, Aimee Radic Waddell (Luke), Allison Radic, TJ Radic, Emily Necciai Mayeski (James), Clark Necciai, Sarah Necciai and Rebecca Necciai; and two step-granddaughters, Angela Shaffer and Marcia Smith. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Chovan of Utica, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Joanne Dunlop of Belle Vernon. Jack worked at Fisher Body for several years before moving to Burbank, Calif., where he worked six and a half years for Lockheed Aircraft. He attended American Barber College of Los Angeles and graduated in 1965. He returned with his family to the Belle Vernon area in 1967 and worked 40 years in the Pittsburgh area as a barber. He was an active member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. He was interested in hunting, fishing and gardening. He spent many hours in his workshop making banks and birdhouses. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Howard Dunlop; and four sisters, Betty Skurla, Helen Bronson, Evelyn Sethman and Ruth Kott. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, PA 15012, 724-929-6183. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.
