Mastriano will face Shapiro in governor’s race

Doug Mastriano is the Republican nominee in the race to succeed Tom Wolf as Pennsylvania’s governor.

Josh Shapiro went into Tuesday’s primary unchallenged on the Democratic ticket. Last night, he and the rest of Pennsylvania learned state Sen. Doug Mastriano — who secured a late endorsement from Donald Trump and has trumpeted the former president’s claims about widespread fraud costing him the 2020 election — won the Republican nomination for Pennsylvania’s open governor’s office.
