Clement R. “Clem” Gigliotti, 73, of Presto, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in his home. Clem was born in their family home in the Stogletown section of Monongahela and was the son of the late Clemente and Elizabeth Leone Gigliotti. After his graduation from the former Monongahela High School in 1967, he earned a business degree from California University. Clem began his career working at the former Frank Irey Construction Co. in Monongahela, leaving there in 1988 as its project manager and estimator and at the same time was running Gigliottis Restaurant in Belle Vernon from 1974-87. In 1988, Clem opened Merit Contracting Inc., which over the years became a worldwide construction company. From Merit Contracting, several other businesses developed and grew over the years, including Top Box in 1994, Mon-River Realty in 1993, Westmoreland Realty in 1995, Dealer Depot in 1996, Westmoreland Waste in 1997 and County Hauling in 1998. Clem was a member of the former St. Anthony Catholic Church in Monongahela, where he was named one of the Pittsburgh Diocese’s Holy Name Society’s “Man of the Year,” and he was always an active member of their Festa Committee. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Wells) Gigliotti, whom he married in 2005; two sons, Will P. Gigliotti of New Eagle and Clement P. Jr. and wife Julie of Canonsburg; a stepson, Derek C. Hague and wife Karry of Monongahela; a brother, Frank and wife Barbara A. Gigliotti of Annandale, Va.; four grandchildren, Jaycie, Aurelia, Elliana and Clemente Gigliotti; two step-grandchildren, Derek and Easton Hague; a sister-in-law, Debbie Jones of Mississippi; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends he leaves behind. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela.
