It was a hot and magical day in Charleroi Wednesday afternoon as the new Magic City Riverfront Park officially opened.
The project, spearheaded by the Mon Valley Alliance, sits at the site of Charleroi’s former Cougar Stadium, which was demolished four years ago.
Since then, the vacant lot has been turned into a riverfront oasis for residents looking to connect with the water or enjoy a sunny afternoon.
Phase 1 of the Charleroi Magic City Riverfront Park project debuted Wednesday as legislators, business owners, elected officials and residents showed up to the official grand opening to check out the Monongahela River’s newest asset firsthand and celebrate.
