The final country that I am visiting this summer is Ecuador! After hiking the Inca Trail, we flew from Cusco, Peru, to Quito, Ecuador, where we made our way to the Galápagos Islands.
To get to Isabela Island, a large, but remote island in the South Pacific Ocean over 600 miles from the mainland of Ecuador, we had to spend an entire day traveling with two flights, two buses, two vans and three boats. One of the boats was a speed boat that ripped through the currents and literally lifted us over the huge waves in the Pacific. I have to say the views on the island were absolutely worth it, as we were immediately able to spot various sea creatures in the crystal clear water.
