Cherpak’s 300th win comes in playoffs

Bill Cherpak’s Thomas Jefferson program tends to play its best football during playoff season, and that was the case on Friday night as he earned his 300th career victory with a 21-6 win over Greater Latrobe in the second round of the WPIAL playoffs. Well, that was the case in the second half, according to the fourth-ever coach to reach that milestone. He joins Jim Render, who had 406 wins, Joe Hamilton with 342 and George Novak with 306.
