After suffering its share of heartbreak over the last three seasons, Belle Vernon Area returned to the North Shore Friday night and erased a 27-year championship drought. Five-star recruit Quinton Martin scored three touchdowns and the No. 1 Leopards played a tenacious brand of defense in a 24-7 victory over No. 2 Avonworth in the WPIAL Class 3A championship game at Acrisure Stadium.
