There’s nothing like a Thanksgiving Day practice, and for the second straight season Belle Vernon Area will be preparing for a WPIAL championship game. The Leopards (9-2) scored on their first three possessions to take a 21-0 lead into halftime en route to a 42-0 shellacking of Freeport in Friday’s Class 3A semifinal at Gateway. “We can’t act like we have a full belly yet,” BVA running back Jake Gedekoh said. “There’s still work to be done and we’re going to be ready for it.”
