Top-seeded Eagles set to battle defending 1A champions

Keith Trahan’s Eagles haven’t lost a set in two playoff games. Serra will look to continue its success against Bishop Canevin tonight.

A trip to the WPIAL Class 1A girls volleyball championship will be on the line tonight when top-seeded Serra Catholic meets fifth-seeded Bishop Canevin in a semifinal matchup at Peters Township High School. The Section 4 champion Eagles (17-1) are one of two teams remaining in the Class 1A bracket with unblemished set records in the postseason. Like second-seeded Frazier, Serra has yet to drop a set in two postseason matches against Burgettstown in the first round and Carmichaels in the quarterfinals.
