Pearl ‘June’ Katchmark Snyder – Belle Vernon

 

Pearl “June” Katchmark Snyder, 87, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born Dec. 8, 1935, in Pricedale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Teresa Popovich Katchmark. A resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Snyder was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, was a homemaker, worked as a postmaster for many years and volunteered as a preschool assistant at St. Sebastian’s with her daughter. The now grown preschoolers still ask about “Miss P.J.” Pearl also volunteered with her husband at the St. Vincent DePaul Society store in Monessen and will be remembered for her parties that she organized for her family, her BaBa Skettie and for her black pants. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Randy Kozura of Washington Township; her very loved grandson, R.J. Randy Kozura and special girlfriend, Caroline Foster of Pittsburgh; grand fur babies Snoopy, Sissi, Kitty Kitty; and great fur babies, Pickles; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas F. Snyder; brother, Robert Katchmark; and six sisters, Pauline Cummins, Katherine Hamilton, Dorothy Hathaway, Betty Ambler, Mary Anne Ercegovich and Edith “Snooky” McQuillis. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating.
