Charleroi council could decide to reopen its 2023 budget next week. During an agenda meeting Wednesday, Councilwoman Nancy Ellis brought up a few questions concerning the budget passed at a Dec. 27 special meeting. The spending plan adopted that night raised taxes, but not by as much as originally proposed during a business meeting in early December, when there was discussion of increasing the tax rate from 6.85 to 12.85 mills.
