One of two vehicles that collided on Douglas Hill Road Aug. 31 in Elizabeth Township weighed approximately 70,000 pounds more than any weight limit for roadways statewide. News of the crash and accounts of a second incident two weeks later involving a truck that skidded backward down Nichols Hill Road produced “incredible concern in the community,” according to Elizabeth Township police Chief Ken Honick.
