Henry T. ‘Stu’ Studnicki – Belle Vernon

 

Henry T. “Stu” Studnicki, 88, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 12, 1934, in Fairhope, Pa., he was the son of the late Bogumil and Aneila Duda Studnicki. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Studnicki was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon, where he served as a long-time usher. Mr. Studnicki was a retired teacher from Belmar Junior High in the Belle Vernon Area School District, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, former member of the PSEA and NEA and the Arnold City PNA. Stu had a promising baseball career with the then Brooklyn Dodgers that was cut short by injuries. He was a member of the first graduating class of Bellmar High School in 1952. He will be remembered for his sports ability and his humor and jokes. He also leaves behind his passion for gardening and golf. There was not anything he would not do for his family. He is survived by his wife, Elma Louise “Babe” Cekola Studnicki, to whom he was married 60 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Doug Dowd of Pittsburgh, and Joyce and Charles Smith of Belle Vernon; son, John Studnicki of Scenery Hill; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Jon Michael, CJ, Corrin, Caleb, Caylee, Kaitlyn, Korbin, Kamden, Katryna and Kaidin; and two great-grandchildren, Giana and Charley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thaddeus and Matthew Studnicki; and a sister, Olga Belsick. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J.
