It may have been a monumental night for the Belle Vernon wrestling program, but it was Mount Pleasant that returned home with a resounding 54-15 victory in section play Wednesday night.
Prior to the dual, Belle Vernon introduced its new wrestling Hall of Fame with an inaugural class of two. Jack Jolley, a legendary pioneer of the program, and Aaron Olszewski, the program’s first state finalist, were the first two inductees.
“I think for the most part it was a great night,” Belle Vernon coach Bob Bove said. “Our junior high finished undefeated in the section, it was senior night and we had our first hall of fame induction. It was great to see Jack and Aaron back; there probably wouldn’t be Belle Vernon wrestling without Jack, so we were glad to have him.”
